「伝統工芸」と聞くと、多くの人はどこか“遠い世界のもの”という印象を持つかもしれません。
特別な日、格式高い場所、あるいは展示室の中で、ガラス越しに眺める存在。

けれど私たちKASHIKOが大切にしたいのは、そんな“非日常”としての伝統ではなく、
日々の暮らしの中でこそ息づく「伝統の今」です。

KASHIKOが向き合っているのは、石川県が誇る伝統工芸・九谷焼。誕生は江戸時代初期、約360年前にさかのぼります。 華やかな五彩（青・黄・赤・紫・緑）で彩られた絵付け、そして自由でのびやかな構図は、当時から人々の心を惹きつけてきました。 一度は廃窯となったものの、再興九谷として蘇り、現代まで脈々と受け継がれています。その歴史を未来につなぐには、飾るためのものにとどまらず、 暮らしの中で使われる存在として生かすことが必要だと、私たちは考えています。

その鮮やかな色彩や文様、そして職人や作家たちの技は、数百年にわたって受け継がれてきたものです。
しかしその価値は、“美術品”として守るだけでは十分に伝わらないと、私たちは感じています。

もっと自由に、もっと身近に、そしてもっと使いやすく。
そんな想いから、私たちは九谷焼の意匠を活かした文房具や風呂敷といった「日常で使える美」をかたちにしています。

たとえば、手紙を書くときに使う便箋。

そこに九谷焼の文様がそっと添えられているだけで、心の整い方が変わる。
朝、バッグに忍ばせた風呂敷が、美しい包みとして手に馴染むことで、一日が少し丁寧になる。

そんな“静かな変化”を、私たちは信じています。

伝統を守るということは、ただ古き良きを継承するだけでなく、
その価値を今の暮らしの中にどう息づかせていくかという問いと向き合うことだと、KASHIKOは考えます。作家の作品が焼き物の枠を超えて広がること。
美意識を宿した日用品として、人の手に届くこと。

そして使うたびに、その背後にある物語や想いが、ふと心を整えてくれること。それが、私たちが描く「伝統と暮らしのあいだにKASHIKOがある未来」です。これからもKASHIKOは、静かながらも確かな美しさを、日常という舞台に届けていきます。

When we hear the words “traditional crafts,” many of us may picture something distant—
objects seen through glass in a museum, reserved for formal occasions or special days.

But at KASHIKO, we value a different vision of tradition.
We believe tradition should live not only in extraordinary moments,
but in the rhythm of daily life—in the present, and in the everyday.

KASHIKO works with Kutani ware, a traditional craft from Ishikawa Prefecture that dates back to the early Edo period, more than 360 years ago.
Characterized by its vibrant five-color palette—blue, yellow, red, purple, and green—and its expressive, free-flowing designs, Kutani ware has long captured people’s hearts.
Though the kilns once closed, it was revived as “Saikō-Kutani” (Revived Kutani), and its artistry has been passed down ever since.

To carry that history into the future, we believe it must be more than something to admire.
It must be something that lives—something that is used.

The vivid colors, intricate patterns, and exceptional techniques of Kutani artists have been honed over centuries.
But simply preserving them as “art” is not enough to keep their spirit alive.
That’s why KASHIKO creates everyday beauty—transforming Kutani designs into items like stationery and furoshiki.

A single sheet of letter paper, adorned with a traditional motif, can change the way we collect our thoughts.
A furoshiki tucked into a bag becomes not only a practical wrap, but a quiet, elegant companion for the day.
